BLURB: Beneath the ice at the bottom of the Earth is a magnificent subterranean labyrinth, a place of breathtaking wonders—and terrors beyond imagining. A team of specialists led by archaeologist Ashley Carter has been hand-picked to explore this secret place and to uncover the riches it holds. But they are not the first to venture here—and those they follow did not return. There are mysteries here older than time and revelations that could change the world. But there are also things that should not be disturbed—and a devastating truth that could doom Ashley and the expedition: they are not alone.
REVIEW: An absolute train wreck. I'm a sucker for action-adventure, especially when it's non-stop and maybe a little over the top, but this was just such a mess I did more eye-rolling than anything else. I only finished it because it was really fast reading and I was more than a little curious about how far off the rails it would actually go. The answer to that question? Very, very, very far. Every single character is a cliche of a cliche. It crashes into fantasy land when every page before then had been striving for technical adventure. The romance is practically insta-love. And did I mention the telepathic marsupials? No? I am not kidding. TELEPATHIC MARSUPIALS.
