Earlier this year, Alicia wrote and submitted a paper to a national competition sponsored by MIT. It was titled, "A Music Theory: The Correlation Between Music Program Participation And Academic Accomplishment." Well, we just found out she's a finalist! Now, she has to travel to MIT the beginning of April and present her paper to the final judging committee. There's recognition and prizes, but what's most important to her is showing MIT (her college of choice) how well-rounded she is and how much she respects them.
Needless to say, I'm so damn proud of her. She's so flipping smart and one of the hardest working people I've ever known. I honestly believe she can do just about anything she sets her mind to.
