Catching up

Wow, I had no intention of being gone this long. Some of it was planned. Thanksgiving means guests for a week and getting online for very long is just too rude so I pretty much lived offline. Some of it was not planned, however, which was annoying as crap but nothing I could do to fix but be patient. Too boring to explain, so I won't go into it, but at least I'm on the other side which is a relief.

So let's see, what else has been going on in my life...

Alicia has a new boyfriend. The last one turned into a major flake a couple months back, but this one is a boy she's known since 6th grade. He's a year older, a junior, and in band with her. His mom is VP of the band boosters which we work so closely with, too. But they've been hanging out a ton more since the weirdness of the ex until he finally asked her to the Winter Ball. It's already so different than the last BF, so I'm still adjusting. First of all, I like this boy a lot (for the most part, there's some brash teenaged boy bravado which comes across as homophobia, but seriously, I don't think he's actually homophobic, especially since that would be a deal breaker for Alicia). He's funny and kind but not a pushover. Most importantly, he treats Alicia like she's special which kind of makes me misty every time I see them together.

But Alicia likes him back just as much, which is taking some getting used to. She's not the type of girl who has ever gone giggly over boys, but she just *softens* when he's around. It's really sweet.

Craig's dad has arrived from the UK for the holidays. He arrived just before Thanksgiving and he's here until mid-February. My house is so damn clean.

Weight Watchers is still going strong. I've lost 16.4 pounds in the first 8 weeks, which I'm rather proud of. We've had some great recipes I'm going to have to share at some point. I'm not starving, that's for sure.
