Rectober Post #5 - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I haven't watched last night's episode yet, but it seems appropriate to recommend this one based on last week's today.

Title:found the place to rest my head
Author: jemmasimmmons
Pairing(s): Fitz/Simmons
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 3251
Warnings: None
Summary: "There is howling in her head and the taste of blood in her mouth and before she even knows whether she is awake or asleep, Jemma’s fingers have closed around the slither of wood in her fist.

There is grit under his fingernails and fingers slipping through his own, and her name is on his lips ready to scream before Fitz really knows what is happening."

Why I loved it: After last week's episode, there were a whole slew of post-ep fics that showed up. This was the first I read that made my heart twinge. The writing is just lovely, but what hit so hard for me was just how authentic all of this felt, for both Jemma and Fitz. Fitz is the reason I'm so invested in this ship. This exemplifies why.
