It doesn't feel like a Sunday

Thanks to enigmaticblues, I've got my old version back on my friends page, woo hoo! It's such a relief. I really don't like the new format at all. I'm such an old fogey.

Alicia is home from drum major camp, and Alex will be going back to school tomorrow. Alicia's first day is on Tuesday. Both are pretty excited about it. Alex got a computer programming/design class that he's really looking forward to, and Alicia just wants to get back to all her friends.

I'm back in the healthy eating/exercise routine. I've got Craig moving, too, though he's been taking long walks with Lucy instead of coming with me to the gym. A group of friends started a new DietBet, so I signed on for this one. It's one of those sites where you pay $25 and have 4 weeks to lose 4%. Everyone who succeeds splits the pot at the end. I can do that. I know I can. I've done it twice already. Plus, I feel so much better when I'm exercising. My hips thank me for it when I'm done.

My other goal is trying to go through the two-foot high stack of food magazines I've been collecting for the past ten years. I needed to make room for the three new cookbooks I got yesterday, and I ended up cleaning out that cupboard. I pulled a dozen of them, but that leaves me at least another dozen to go through. Today's recipes were a peach turnover and a green bean sauté. They were both okay, but nothing worth repeating or sharing. Tomorrow, black bean burgers. Yum.
