Thursday is all about picking up the pieces

Bullet points for today:

* In spite of her ankle still being swollen and hobbling around on crutches, Alicia wrapped her ankle as tight as she could stand, put on her "I'm going to do it no matter what" attitude, and went to the drum major tryouts after school today. We just got the email that she was selected as one of two assistant drum majors for next year. I'm uber proud of her, though she keeps downplaying it since she's sharing duties. But the fact of the matter is, she tried out with a *badly* sprained ankle and still did well enough to merit being included. She could've been completely overlooked since her marching was so weak. I won't let her downplay the achievement, no matter what.

* iZombie. Alicia and I watched it last night. I'm having way too much fun with that show, and damn, my Bradley love is back in full force.

* I am also in full-blown lust with my spiralizer. I did potatoes on it for the first time a couple weeks ago, and then roasted them with garlic, parmesan, and salt/pepper. So very good, to the point that everybody keeps asking for them for dinner. I don't want to overdo it and get sick of them, though. They're too good for that.

* Against my better judgment, I put in a claim over at merlinreversebb. I missed out on the first round of claims, and then decided that was probably kismet, only to have two new pieces show up in the second round, one of which really inspired me. It's even Merlin/Arthur. Go figure. Don't know yet if I got it, though.
