Mad Men

I watched last night's episode over breakfast this morning and it pretty much ruined my day. There isn't even a good reason for it.

The closer we get to the end, the sicker I get about what's going to happen to Don. Each episode has seen something else stripped away from him. He won't have anything left when the show ends, which means he'll either disappear to start a new life or kill himself like so many people are predicting. Needless to say, I much prefer the former, though neither scenario makes me happy.

On the positive side, all of Peggy's scenes were stellar. And the one with her and Stan at the end of the day? I was sitting on my couch, saying out loud, "Figure it out, Stan. You're smart enough to figure this out." And then he did, and my little shipper heart just swelled. Especially when he calls her at the end and they just stay on the line to hear the other one as they're working. He is the best friend she has, and he adores her flaws and all. I don't think I'll be lucky enough to see them together at the show's end, but at the very least, I have faith that Peggy will be okay. She's very strong and she didn't turn her back on Stan after he found out the truth, which she could've done to isolate herself from those feelings.

I don't want this show to end. :(
