Sometimes I don't get it

I'm just about back to normal, thank god. Craig is still feeling under the weather, but we had a lazy day and it worked. I will actually be able to enjoy the Oscars tomorrow.

Speaking of which, my watching this year *sucked*. I'll end up watching most of the nominated films after the fact. One I did watch that I just don't understand all the hype for is "Gone Girl." I hadn't read the book, but had a vague gist of what it was about, but seriously, I don't get it. It wasn't suspenseful (it was all too easy to figure out by the time the reveals came), and I wasn't really that impressed with Rosamund Pike at all. The argument that she's supposed to be icy/bitchy doesn't fly for me since she *always* comes across that way on screen. And don't get me started on how many women I know think a lot of the actions taken in the book/movie are *justified*. The whole movie just made my skin crawl, and not in the way the director meant it to.
