Back to daily posts

Oops, I haven't posted since Saturday. This is what happens when I have stuff early in the morning and forget to do it later on.

Father's Day was nice and relaxing. We took Craig to see How to Train Your Dragon 2 - worth it - then had a family day. Then yesterday, I had to drive Alicia out to meet with her camping friends which meant I was gone for most of the morning. I managed to get some work done when I got home, but it wasn't a good day for pain. I laid down with the heating pad around 3 and fell asleep for 90 minutes. I had to take it easy after that.

My mom called me on Saturday to say she wouldn't be going to Michigan either, because - wait for it - she got called to jury duty. For the day after I did. When she has only been called twice in her whole life. The coincidence just makes me laugh since she lives clear on the other side of the country, and contrary to me wanting to do it, she desperately hopes to get excused. She says the last thing she wants is to have that kind of power over another person's life, which kind of explains her mothering style while I was growing up, now that I think of it.

Today, Lucy's got a vet appointment, and then I have to buckle down and write. This story just isn't coming that quickly, which worries me, and I have so many upcoming deadlines, I can't afford to let this one take longer than necessary. One of these days, I'll be able to write fic again, right? *sigh*
