As it turns out, we can't go to Michigan after all. High school registration happens on three different days, two of which Alicia is in Santa Cruz for her astronomy course. The third is on the 21st, which was when we were going to Michigan. My plan had been to do her registration for her while she was away, but yesterday I discovered she has to be there in person. No getting around it. If you can't do it one of those three days, you have to do it first day and basically lose the whole first day. I priced what it would take to fly on the 22nd and still make it back by the 28th, and it was just too expensive to justify, almost $1400 just for three of us.
So, no Michigan. At least I don't have to worry about what happens with jury duty now.
