Because I have zero problem encouraging her fan pursuits, I ordered it when we got home. I'm sure she won't be surprised when she gets it as a present, lol.
She's got a new boyfriend, too, though I found out about him by accident on Facebook. She's in that blushy, can't talk about it without giggling stage, which amuses me to no end. Part of it's because she's so different to how I was in junior high and high school. I never had the boyfriend experience, never had a date until senior prom. Apparently, I was "intimidating" which I used to cry about because I didn't understand what was wrong with me. I love that Alicia is goofy and fun and approachable. She doesn't dumb herself down for anyone, or try too hard about meeting so-called feminine standards. She lives in her jeans and sweats 75% of the time, and has only recently started making curious noises about make-up (mostly due to her best friend, who's been into make-up for longer). She geeks out with these boys on different things, from band to building stuff to Dr. Who. (Last night, she spent two hours after we got home from shopping to help Craig build a robotic arm after he finally got the tool he needed to do it.)
One of these times, I know she'll get her heart broken. It's the nature of the beast. For now, I'm glad she's having fun. I love seeing her smile, and it's silly but I love that people are comfortable with her and want to hang out with her. I think it's because she's so much like Craig in that aspect. Alex is a lot more like me, reserved and content to entertain himself most of the time. Alicia is my people person.
