The weekend

We are leaving after school today for Sacramento. It's not that far away from us, maybe 90 minutes at the outside, but Alicia's last softball tournament is this weekend, and she has to be at the field at 7am tomorrow morning, so we decided to make it easy for us and just stay at a hotel nearby Friday and Saturday nights. We're treating it as a little mini-break for the family, with a movie and dinner tonight, and then games and dinner tomorrow night. It should be fun.

I'm still fighting the vestiges of my cold, but I feel a million times better than I did last weekend. I would never have made it for this little getaway if I didn't. I'm also weighing in today when I really don't want to. I'm not back to where I was before Florida - being sick and comfort eating as a result is not conducive to losing - but I need the routine and accountability. This weekend won't help at all, but hopefully now that I can breathe again, I can start hitting the gym when we get back on Sunday.

Yesterday, Craig turned the TV on while he was eating breakfast - a habit he's getting into when he's not on a call - and we caught the second half of Buffy's S6 "Two to Go." I wouldn't let him change the channel because I wanted to see the end of the ep. Giles' entrance and line there has got to be one of my top five cheer moments of the show. Even yesterday, I whooped and shouted like I didn't know what was coming, lol.
