Time and Alicia's birthday seem to have helped my mood. She's been an absolute doll the past two days. Not that she isn't often, but just more so than usual. It was greatly appreciated.

Though I found it funny that she asked me how it could be possible that my mother and I could be the exact opposite on absolutely everything.

As part of her birthday, I took her and her BFF to see Hansel & Gretel today...

I had low expectations going in, thanks to some wonderful advance information from christinenj (thanks again, hon!), so I knew it wasn't going to be high art. I was surprised at just how much I did enjoy it, though. Famke was creepy as the evil witch, Jeremy was hot (and am I the only one who thought he was a virgin before Mia came along? He was just too unaware and skittish around her to have me thinking he had any experience with women before.), and the action scenes were well done. Yes, it was gory, and maybe the humor was broad and obvious, but oh well. I don't feel like I wasted my time, which happens more often than not these days.

Weigh-in tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed.
