Monterey Jack Turkey Burgers

Last night, I tried a new turkey burger recipe and fell in love. L and her kids were over for dinner, too, and she fell head over heels, too. I couldn't believe how good these were. And not high in calories.

MONTEREY JACK TURKEY BURGERS

INGREDIENTS
3/4 lb ground turkey
1 tbsp ketchup
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/3 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
4 slices turkey bacon, cooked
4 whole wheat hamburger buns
4 thick tomato slices
4 lettuce leaves

DIRECTIONS
1. Mix together turkey, ketchup, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in large bowl until well blended but not overmixed.
2. Gently stir in cheese.
3. Shape into 4 patties.
4. Spray pan with nonstick spray and set over medium-high heat. Place patties in pan and cook until burgers read 160F, about four minutes per side.
5. Make burger with patty, bacon, tomato and lettuce. Garnish as desire.

NOTES: Serves 4. This is a Weight Watchers recipe I modified very slightly (I used less salt, more would have been too much). One garnished burger like this is roughly 300 calories. If you add more or don't use some of the garnish, it will obviously need to be adjusted.
