I know I haven't been on lately (and manoah, I'm totally getting to emailing you later), but I wanted to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes, including cindergal and k_nightfox for the virtual gifts. :) It was a pretty good day, considering everything that's going on.

A fair bit has happened this week. The decision was made to move my MIL to a permanent hospital bed here in the house, as well as catheterizing her, as any type of movement whatsoever sends her sats level plummeting. Once she wasn't making any unnecessary movement, she actually improved some. The past two days, she's been perkier and more stable than she'd been the week before that. There's also a night nurse coming in to sit with her and give her more oxygen as she needs it so my FIL can get a decent night's sleep.

We'd discussed staying on longer if it looked she had only days left, and Craig was considering just staying on his own (we leave on Wednesday), but if she keeps on like this, it really could be a few weeks before she passes. We're holding off on making a decision until Monday evening, though. Just in case she takes a turn for the worse.

So while my birthday was an understated day, I still got to spend it with family and friend. Alicia and I went shopping for a bit in the morning together, then after lunch, I got surprised by a cake Craig's aunt had snuck into the house. We went out to dinner last night at my favorite restaurant and got to hang out with old friends (and his new girlfriend), which was a blast. And my very slight hangover this morning is more than welcome because you know, I got to let loose for a few hours last night and not think about what the next month is going to bring.

I'm blessed to have all of you. Thank you for everything. *hugs*
