The party was nice but a little subdued. It's always fun, though, being a creative person in the midst of computer geeks. They all think you're the coolest person in the world, lol. And even better when at least one wife doesn't believe you're as old as you say you are. Thank god for good make-up and bad lighting!
Around 10, I was pleasantly buzzed and dying for a steak because they had cleared the buffets early and we really didn't get to eat. We ended up ducking out at 11 with intentions to order room service, but then passed a sushi restaurant on the way back to the hotel. Impulses for the win! Overall, it was a great night, and we got to have a lazy morning before heading back for the recital at our house.
Today, we got all the decorations up and just hung out around the house. I've been trying to catch up on stuff online and failing miserably, but the alternative is to sit downstairs and watch Craig and Alex play videogames. Um, no, not my idea of fun. FIL is reading, while MIL and Alicia are knitting. I feel left out, but what else am I going to do? I suppose I could take a book downstairs and read, but then I'd start thinking about all the other things I could be doing and...yeah. I'll stay up here for a while anyway.
