Today did not go as I planned. It was too busy, for starters. We had to go do the grocery run in preparation for grilling tomorrow, which ended up taking most of my morning. Then, Alicia and I ran out to go get gifts for my friend who just had her baby yesterday (11 days overdue, she was so ready for it to be out), but when we got back, I realized that the notepad that had been in the passenger side door, the one that had all the work I'd written in it last night in the car on the ride into SF, had fallen out at some point. So my FIL and I went back out to retrace my steps to try and find it. Luckily, it was still at Pet Smart, where somebody had driven over it in taking the space I'd had. I won't be able to use it anymore, but at least I can transcribe everything I'd written.

Plans were for us to go and visit the new baby this evening. Alicia had practice from 3-5 (her all-star team is still in the play-offs, woo hoo!), then Alex had his baseball team party at 6. He was supposed to be home a little after 7 so we could run over for a short visit. Well, at 7:40 the mom called me and asked if we can do it tomorrow (which of course was okay), and Craig and Alex didn't get home until 8. Which meant dinner wasn't until 9 because Craig was grilling.

I got zero done today, it feels like. Tomorrow, Alicia's got practice again in the morning, then at 10, the neighbors are having a breakfast for the neighborhood to celebrate the holiday. Our town does fireworks tomorrow night, and as it turns out, it's at the high school right by our neighborhood. We've discovered that everybody who doesn't live here comes and sits in the park across the street to watch. People in the neighborhood sit in their yards. So that's the plan for tomorrow night. Grilling, fireworks, marshmallows over the fire pit.

We're eating healthily, though. All the adults in the house are doing the Lose It thing. Craig's lost over twenty pounds so far, and the jeans I bought at Christmas are miles too big on me already (I'm down eight pounds). It's time to break out the jeans that have been tucked away in the back of the closet for being too small. :D
