Going to the theater

I have oodles to post about, but little time today to do it (or to do any of the writing I had planned, lol). We had decided months ago that we were going to do Teatro Zinzanni for my birthday, since it worked out that the inlaws were going to be here, too. Craig's aunt has never been, and really, it's such a fantastic experience, she has to go. Well, Craig goes back to work next week, which makes it a little harder to get into San Francisco for an evening performance. So we're going tonight instead, with some shopping happening during the day before we go.

Every time I see another show, I just get reminded of how much I miss theater. I don't get to go as often as I want, and I find that as I get older, I crave it more and more. I think it's been exacerbated lately because I've recently reconnected with all my theater friends from college on Facebook. They had a massive reunion a few weeks ago, and everyone's been posting pictures from past productions. I miss it so much.

On the other hand, I've been sooooooooooooo lucky about the shows I have got to see in my lifetime. When we were in the UK, I got to see Jessica Lange and Charles Dance in Long Day's Journey Into Night, and on my very first trip to NYC, I got to see John Malkovich and Joan Allen in Burn This as well as seeing Kiri Te Kenawa in Cosi fan tutte at the Met. So see? Lucky.

I'm just greedy, I guess, lol.
