Babies on the brain

Today marked a first for me. I went to my very first baby shower. Yep, I'm 41, I've got 2 kids of my own, and I have never been to one before. I didn't even have one. I was in the UK at the time, and it just wasn't done over there then. I don't think I've ever even been invited to one before the one for today. I'm not sure if that makes me pathetic or just means I have really sucky timing, lol.

I'm living vicariously through this baby, though. It's the mom of Alicia's best friend, and someone I adore and have gotten reasonably close to over the past year. She understands how I can't have more, and we have a lot of the same outlook and philosophies, and she's very willing to let me spoil her baby rotten, lol.

Now I just have to remind myself that two children is perfect for our home and that I don't need to adopt...
