Two announcements

So...I've mentioned I've been writing fic again. Merlin, in this case. And not just the few ficlets I got my feet wet with. No, I recently completed a 67k story about Gwen and Arthur, a definite labor of love that ultimately consumed me while I was working on it.

Specific mention hasn't shown up here on my LJ before now because I was writing it anonymously. One of the things pepperlandgirl4 exposed me to was kinkme_merlin, a community where people post anonymous prompts to be written. I've been fascinated by it for months, and when I saw a particular prompt that I couldn't get out of my head, I decided to give it a go. Rather than claim it right away, I decided to start posting anonymously. I had zero faith in my ability to pull it off. First off, it was an AU request. I've only ever written one of those in fic ever. Secondly, I hadn't tackled anything Arthur/Gwen of any real length, and I'm the first to admit I'm still feeling my way around the characters. An AU setting made that harder for me.

But now I am. The story is done, people didn't throw tomatoes at me in the stocks because it was terrible, and I have someplace to put it. I'm not spamming my flist with it, though. It's 27 chapters, and that's not fair to you, lol. It is online though, which is the second part of my announcement.

When I knew I was getting sucked back into fic, I asked Pepper if she wanted a home for hers and mine. She said yes. I asked inxsomniax for her expertise in designing a look for it, and Legends of Merlin was born. Pepper and I have spent the last week working on it (okay, we've been uploading stories and finding things to fix and Craig's been doing most of the real tweaking), and it's in a place now where we're ready to share it. So that's where you're going to find the story I just finished.

The site itself should be easy enough to navigate. It's a closed archive, so no, nobody else will be able to submit stories to it, and you don't have to register to read the work. If you have problems with it, holler at us and let us know. We want it to be as functional as possible for what we need.

TITLE: The Difference Between Poetry and Rhetoric

When Gwen's Dad is dying Arthur helps her and romance (and friendship) blooms even during her grief. Bonus points if Arthur is secretly geeky in his own way.
