Since dreams can vary from night to night, I'll assume this means personal dreams, for the future, for myself, for my loved ones. And...it's tougher than I thought it would be. Because as boring as my life can be sometimes, it's a pretty darn good one. I have two great kids, I have a wonderful husband, I have a comfortable life, I get to write professionally...
So do I have dreams? Perhaps, though they're more fantasies than anything else. Would I like to write a bestseller? Oh, hell yeah. Would I like to be independently wealthy so I could live wherever I want and do anything I want? Who wouldn't? Do I dream about the day I'm able to finally stick to a diet and exercise plan and have a figure I want to show off? Please. I'm female. The majority of us have body image issues.
But I do have dreams about the world I live in. I dream of the day when people aren't persecuted for who they love. I dream of the time when it's okay to have different religious beliefs without being judged for them. I dream of a world I can be proud of, that isn't being slowly killed by our greed and ignorance. I know it's not likely I'll see either of the two latter in my lifetime, though I hold out hope for the first.
I guess that's why they call them dreams.
