Back to the online living

Holy crap. I went a month without posting? I completely suck, because it's not like I've been offline. I've been busy, sure, but if anything, I'm paying more attention to LJ than usual because of my growing Merlin obsession.

Yes, it's an obsession. I've been writing fanfic. A lot of it. And pepperlandgirl4 and I will have a fic archive of our stuff soon. So I think that definitely qualifies as an obsession.

In the past month, we've been to the UK and back. Craig's mum is doing very well, though her mobility is still restricted. We'll know at the end of November whether or not she can fly for the holidays. If she can, it would only be for 2 or 3 weeks. She's still under regular treatment and can't be gone for longer than that.

While we were gone, the back yard got finished. Craig took pictures but a lot of them don't really do it all justice. Here's a few just to give an idea...

The firepit completely finished. You can see some of the trees and plants in the background. They have some growing to do.

You can see the sweep of the patio in this picture. It's taken from the side of the house with the planters. Which are...

...right here. They turned out fantastic. There are mock orange and camellias planted in that bed along the lefthand side of the picture.

We still have to buy the swing, and get benches for around the firepit, but it's getting there. I can go out there and sit in the sun now. It's fantastic.

But...yeah. My life has been consumed by Merlin. If I'm not working, I'm doing something Merlin-related. Or kid-related. We're gearing up for Halloween. Slowly but surely.

I'm going to do that getting to know you meme going around to make myself post everyday. Starting tomorrow. :)
