But the week away was incredibly rejuvenating. I got to pretend I was young and carefree, staying up until 2, or 3, or 4 one night, not getting up until 9 (or later, lol). I got a facial (ohmigod, so amazing) at the Palazzo while we were in Vegas, and I got to get drunk with pretty young men and dish about pretty young men on the TV. We ate at one of Emeril Lagasse's restaurants in Vegas, as well as one of Mario Batali's, and while both meals were good, Batali's was out of this world. Pepper had olive oil gelato for dessert (because it was all about experiencing new things) that was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. Ever.
My Merlin obsession deepens. There is a lot of fic in my future when I finally finish this project I've been working on.
Returning home meant a lot of work. Laundry starts tomorrow, I spent half an hour last night sorting a week's worth of mail, and I hit the grocery store today since Craig and the kids had eaten everything in the house. We had comfort food for dinner tonight (sloppy joes, pasta salad w/bacon, tomatoes, onions & ranch dressing, and fruit pizza), and I'm all relaxed after a long, fulfilling day. I'm getting back to posting regularly now, too. Life returns to normal. :)
