Amanda Overmyer – You know why I didn’t hate this? She talk-sang for most of it. I will say this for her, though. She really does work and command the stage. And her little mini-interview at the end? The most personality we’ve seen from her yet, I think.
Kristy Lee Cook – For a second there, I thought I was going to really love this performance. But then she hit the lower register, and she just doesn’t have any power down there. Miles better than last week, though.
David Archuleta – Now, this is the David we all know and love. Absolutely wonderful. I just adore him.
Michael Johns – Except for that really bum high note he missed by a mile, this was pretty good. Though Beatles purists are probably plugging their ears about the arrangement, lol.
Brooke White – I suppose it was good enough, but I just found myself a little bored by the whole thing. Especially that high falsetto note near the end. Meh.
David Cook – Beatles songs have been good for him. Sometimes I feel like he’s trying to do so much with the instruments, but this was solid.
Carly Smithson – I wasn’t sure when she said she was going to be singing Blackbird whether it was going to work, but it was just beautiful. Very restrained for her.
David Castro – I wasn’t sure about the song choice, especially when he said he had to learn the French for it. It wasn’t his best performance, and the constant smiling seemed to counter some of the intent of the lyrics.
Syesha Mercado – This was just really lovely. I think she’s going to be safe, in spite of how boring she can be sometimes.
Chikezie – This was the weirdest performance for me. I didn’t even recognize the song, lol.
Ramiele Malubay – There were a *lot* of bum notes for her tonight. The big notes were good, but everything else was all over the place. I honestly think this was the weakest performance of the night.
FAVORITE THREE - David Archuleta, Carly Smithson, Syesha Mercado
BOTTOM THREE - Ramiele Malubay, Chikezie, Amanda Overmyer
I'm not sure who is going home this week. Kristy might even though she was better than last week. Hm. Though Ramiele is fading fast.
