Carly Smithson – Such control and such clarity. I just love the tone of her voice.
Syesha Mercado – The restrained parts of the song didn’t work for me nearly as well as the bigger notes. It felt…underplayed. I even had to struggle just to hear her on the quiet parts.
Brooke White – I really liked it until she hit her lower register. It’s not nearly as strong as her higher notes. And why did she bother with the guitar if she stopped playing it halfway through? However, it was miles ahead of last week for me.
Ramiele Malubay – Oh, I’m so disappointed in her song choice this week. It really didn’t do her any justice at all. I still think she’s one of the stronger girls, but she was miles better last week.
Kristy Lee Cook – Another performance that’s better than last week’s. I think this is the most energetic and alive we’ve seen her. And this girl is just so beautiful. She should be safe.
Amanda Overmyer – Okay, her hair is just scary this week. And the vocals were really weak on everything that wasn’t the chorus. I really hope she didn’t blow it.
Alaina Whitaker – It would seem like the perfect song for her, but it felt a little…high school to me. Complete with the dramatic hand gestures and over-reaching on the big notes.
Alexandrea Lushington – I’m not sure I liked the arrangement. The song is nice enough, and her vocals all right, but I kept wanting it to pop and it just didn’t.
Kady Malloy – Why does it seem like they’re all picking non-singer songs? I was just really bored by her tonight.
Asia’h Epperson – What did they do to cute little Asia’h? They added 30 years to her. Another bad song choice, I think. The beginning was way rough, though she picked up some steam after the first big note.
FAVORITE TWO – Carly Smithson and Brooke White
LEAST FAVORITES – Amanda Overmyer and Kady Malloy
Who do I think is going home? Amanda and Kady
If I had to pick my top 6 tonight, in this order:
Kristy Lee Cook
Needless to say, this is likely to change again next week since there were new people in this week's, lol.
