Michael Johns – Has that vibrato always been in his voice? He seems nervous…ouch. He’s shouting some of those high notes. They’re just painful. Even the verses seem just really, really shaky.
Jason Castro – God, can this guy be more adorable? Every time he closed his eyes while he sang, I totally flipped on how long his eyelashes are. *coughs* Which has absolutely nothing to do with his performance, which was nice enough, I guess. Can I go back to how cute he is?
Luke Menard – Ohmigod, so much better than last week. He doesn’t have the power in his voice, but it was animated, and…another gorgeous guy. OK. I’m shallow.
Robbie Carrico – I think I understand Simon’s comment about this guy not being a rocker. It’s clear he likes the music, and the style, but his voice doesn’t match. It’s too…smooth. I think it’s his phrasing. And there’s a clear tone to his voice that doesn’t match the songs he keeps picking.
Danny Noriega – Danny really can sing. When he’s not being campy, his voice is really lovely. His lower register wasn’t as strong, but this was miles better than last week.
David Hernandez – Boy, he popped this week. Both voice and the performance of the song were super strong. My favorite performance of the night so far.
Jason Yeager – He’s doing the smiling thing again. It’s so annoying. And…it’s kind of a boring song. There’s not really a lot of variation, except for that one short section. Lots of long, drawn out, “Looooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvve…” And that pose at the end? Cheesy. Not my favorite.
Chikezie – I like him in his interviews, but I just can’t get interested in him when he’s singing. This doesn’t seem as bad as last week, though the playing to Simon was stupid.
David Cook – Better than last week. And he’s better than Robbie.
David Archuleta – OK, his video just made me love him even more. And he picked the perfect song. This was my goosebump performance of the night. And I think this kid is going to be in the finals. That's my prediction.
FAVORITE TWO – David Archuleta and David Hernandez
LEAST FAVORITES – Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico
Who do I think is going home? Jason Yeager and…I'm not sure. I'll say Robbie.
If I had to pick my top 6 tonight, in this order:
