Although Craig is in India, I've arranged to have Thanksgiving with our best friends, who decided not to do their normal traveling this holiday. I suspect they made that decision after realizing the kids and I were going to be alone, but hey, I'm not going to argue. With their 4 kids and my 2, we'll still have 9 people for a big meal, so Arlene and I sat down to divvy up the work. We're going over there, so she agreed to do the turkey, potatoes, and steamed veg. Her eldest daughter is making the pumpkin pie, which left me with the following:

Artichoke dip w/chips
All the pickles and olives for tiding hungry children over until dinner
Corn casserole
Cranberry mousse
Parmesan rolls
Caramelized onion bubble bread
Plain fresh bread for the two picky youngest children
Alex's pasta (since he refuses to eat mashed potatoes)
Mint chocolate truffles for afters this evening (courtesy of manoah's recipe!)

I'll start the corn casserole in 15 minutes to get it in the oven in half an hour when the bread comes out, and the rolls are rising to be baked closer to dinnertime, but otherwise, I'm done except packing the car.

Which gives me the chance to get online and wish all my American friends a Happy Thanksgiving!

And to all my non-American friends, may your day be a good one anyway. Because I'm grateful for each and every one of you.
