So what's going on...
- Tomorrow is the first day of school. Alex is starting kindergarten, and Alicia will be in 2nd grade. I'm of mixed feelings about this. Alex is ready, and I'm ready to get time back to focus on building my writing career, but...he's my baby. And he's my last baby, unless Craig and I follow through with all our talk about adopting later on.
- I finished a new novel a few weeks that Linden Bay has contracted. It's called A Sentry's Touch, and is a shapeshifter romance due out October 15. It's probably the least smuttiest thing I've ever done, though there are still a few choice scenes. But this book was as much about the journey my heroine and hero took as it was the romance.
- I've been editing a few Jamie Craig stories as well as Sentry. One of our stories, the shapeshifter threesome Trinity Broken, got bumped up on the release schedule. Instead of coming out next April, it's coming out in late December. Which is good for us, actually. The sooner it's out in e-book, the sooner it's out in print, and this is one of those stories that means a lot to me and Pepper.
- General Hospital is killing me these days. God, I love Jason.
- Craig leaves for England in just under 2 weeks. He'll be gone for 3.
- I've registered to go to Phauxcon. I've even been crazy enough to sign up to do a panel on making the transition from writing fanfic to original fiction.
- Craig bought a boat a few weeks ago. It was an aftereffect of spending the time at my aunt and uncle's at the lake in June/July. He's so in love with it, which is good because I like to see him happy. Thankfully, too, he understands my fear of going out on it and doesn't push me.
- My body finally feels like it's returning to normal after the surgery. A lot of the doctor's advice has helped regulate everything.
- I went and saw Wilco last Friday night with Pepper. I learned two things. 1) I hate Berkeley, and 2) the smell of pot makes me sick not hungry. :P The music was good, though.
- I'm going to do my fic prompts. I am. But I kind of agreed to do a back-up fic for a ficathon, so I'm working on finishing that. It's not some long opus, thank god. But still, finding time recently for fandom writing has been precious.
