One of Alicia's projects at school has been a weekly journal. They do it to practice writing, putting sentences together, drawing, and all sorts of good skills. Today, she brought home the journal that ran from just before Halloween to the beginning of January. I just finished sitting and reading it, and it made me smile so much that I'm going to share some entries. All spelling errors are hers. ;)

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, Alicia's in 1st grade.

Even though it was hard I learned how to do a yoyo anyway. I tote myself.
[My note: It took me nearly a minute to realize she meant, "I taught myself." I was giggling at the picture of her picking herself up and trying to carry herself around, lol.]

On Thanksgiving I will eat peacon pie. I help my mom make the peacon pie.
[My note: No, Alicia stole my nuts while I was making the pie, lol.]

During my vacation I had apple pie. The apple pie was nice. It had know crust.
[My note: Nice? Ha. The girl ate half of my dutch apple pie.]

My family and I enjoy Chrismas. We like the big cake. We selrbate Chrismas with a lot of food.
[My note: Yes, yes we do. And she's referring to Christmas pudding, which mommy does *not* like.]

It is inportant to be kind because caring makes people happy. I would be kind to people at school. I will help when they are down.
[My note: Aw. I love my daughter's big heart.]
