I'm not actually that far away from my daily goal. I've managed 2400 words so far today, which includes 2/3's of the next Beg chapter. And Craig left work 15 minutes ago, so I might get another hour before I get on the elliptical tonight.
Speaking of writing, I had a bit of good news on that front this week. The short story I was talking about not too long ago, "The Ice Butterfly," was accepted by Phaze for their Snuggler Heatsheet line. So that will be coming out in December, most likely. When I have a firm date, I'll let you know, but what's fun about this getting accepted is that they're interested in seeing Tomas, my hero in it, in a full-length novel. So as soon as I finish up the one I'm working on, I'm going to start his. I have 20k on the book I'm working on and my goal is to have it done by the end of October/early November. Then I'm going to work to get Tomas' story done by the end of the year. Not that many people care about my writing schedule if it's not about fanfic, lol.
And speaking of fanfic...Beg only has 2 chapters left. And the ending will not be one of the tidiest endings I've ever written. Deliberately. I've had twinges about a potential sequel. I'm not sure yet. We'll see.
What else is going on with my life...not a whole hell of a lot, actually. My left hand hates me for practicing for what feels like forever on A, D, and E chords, trying to make the shifts easy. Ha. I'm good shifting to D from both of them, but anything involving going to E completely throws my rhythm. I know it will come in time; I'm just hugely impatient, lol. When I start to get frustrated, I remind myself how I struggled just doing the D chord on Tuesday night and all is well again.
I'm waiting to hear from my mom. She called me last night to let me know she might have a cataract in her good eye. She was going today for a second opinion. She's very unhappy about this, but she says if she does, she's having surgery right away. She doesn't want to have to deal with more repercussions later.
And 9 days 'til I see Kane. Woo hoo!
