Remember my desire to learn how to play guitar? Last night, I summoned the courage to bring it up to Craig. Considering he just spent a ton of money on his new 50-something inch high-def TV, he couldn't really argue with me too much. In fact, he thought it was a great idea.
So guess what? Today, I went and got myself a guitar!
She's a Yamaha acoustic, not quite a starter guitar, but basic enough for me to begin with. And so pretty! I love the color, which makes me a girl, yes, I know. I'm also signed up for weekly lessons Wednesday afternoons when both kids are at school/pre-school. I'll start those the week after Craig returns from North Carolina. In the meantime, I have the book to start reading and going through, getting myself reacquainted with the musical terminology that I've not used for the last dozen years.
Have I mentioned how excited I am about this? We made sure to get a hard case for my new baby that I can lock to keep grubby little Alex hands away. But both the kids went mad in the music store, which I pretty much knew they would, so we're probably going to start something with both of them some time soon. They've both adored music since they were infants, and I couldn't keep Alicia away from my sister's piano when we were in North Carolina. And Alex wants to play the drums, which oddly enough, Craig encourages, lol.
