Jet lag is a bitch

Stupid body clock. Yesterday, I was up at 4:30 am wide awake, which is pretty much par for the course when I come to the US. I managed to stay up most of the day, and in spite of wanting to take a nap around 2ish, I didn't. I lasted until just after 5, and then thought I'd only lay down for a little bit while I waited for Craig to get back from work. He ended up walking in the door about 6:45, so I really only slept for about an hour and a half. I thought I was doing good, especially as I stayed awake until almost 11. This is it, I thought. I've managed to beat my jet lag. I'm going to bed at a normal time, so I should be able to get up a reasonably normal time.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

It's now just after 3am and I've been up since 1. Two frickin' hours of sleep and I'm wide awake. My body is exhausted but my head won't turn itself off. I even tried self-medicating by jumping Craig, and while it was fun and certainly tired my body out more, I'm still awake. I'd write, but even typing this up is annoying Craig who is trying to sleep, so that's out of the question.

Stupid body clock.

I'm going to try again. I've got to fall asleep eventually, right?
