One less thing to worry about

So, an hour after we left to walk down to Alicia's school, we're home and she's officially registered to begin kindergarten one week from today. I got mildly scolded for not having an emergency contact down, but the truth of the matter is, we don't know anybody on this side of the bay that we'd trust our kids with. When Craig gets back from his business trip, I'm going to make him choose someone from work that we can put down for the interim. A temporary measure but it'll have to do for now.

Alicia's excited about starting. I have no idea how I'm going to react. On one hand, it's hard not to be excited with her. On the other, it's hard to believe she's actually old enough for this. I really don't think I'll have any separation anxiety; though I miss my kids when I'm away from them and love to get them back when I/they return, I've been able to entrust them with others since they were young. I know that I've taught them well, and I don't usually worry too much about how they conduct themselves outside my presence. Too much. ;)
