THE SCENE: Our back deck. ALICIA stands at one end with a soft rubber ball, while her 3 y/o brother, ALEX, stands at the opposite end with a hula hoop positioned at his side.

ALICIA: Mommy! Mommy! Watch me!

Mommy stands back to watch as Alicia proceeds to kick the ball.

The ball misses the hoop, hitting Alex in the groin.

Beat.


ALEX: (completely deadpan) Ow.

Beat.

ALEX: Do it again!

With the encouragement of her brother, Alicia proceeds to continue trying to kick the ball through the hoop, never once succeeding to hit anything but him.



I love my kids. :D
