Craig got lucky this year. Mother's Day is in March here in the UK, and we're not in the US for celebrating it there today. I gave him a bye on doing anything because of the traveling/relocation. Still, it might've been nice if he'd remembered this morning without my prompting him.
The kids had been scheduled to go away next weekend with the cousins to the seaside, so Craig and I have been planning our time since it's going to be just the two of us. We decided to make it our anniversary celebration, as our wedding anniversary is on the 30th of this month and I'm going to be on a plane to Detroit. So, he started asking me what I wanted to do. I did some looking around at the specials that were running last minute, and then decided I wanted to go to Budapest. Turns out, Craig hated the idea, so then I suggested going into France on the Eurostar. He was more open to that idea, but that's not the final plan, either.
Now, we're spending the weekend in London. Not taking the train in each day, even though it's so close, but going in Friday afternoon, staying at a nice 4-star hotel, and then doing shopping and theater all weekend. Craig wants to see Les Miserables again, both because it's been 6 years since we've seen it and because we've never seen it in London, so he's getting that on Friday night, while he's letting me pick on Saturday. Ha. Right. He *hates* my choices when it comes to theater. The last play I picked completely for myself was Long Day's Journey into Night with Jessica Lange, Charles Dance, and Paul Rudd. Craig fell asleep in the third act, even though I warned him it was long and depressing. It was an excellent production, though. *sigh* How much you wanna bet I cave on his desires and let us go see Mamma Mia or We Will Rock You on Saturday? I will enjoy Les Mis as it's my favorite musical (seen it 8 times since I was 19, love this show), so at least I'll have that.
Family day today. Little Nan is here, and my brother-in-law is coming over for Sunday dinner. Ian's a card and the biggest flirt in the world. Plus, I'm the only one in the family as ticklish as he is, and he delights in tormenting me. It's a good thing I like him. ;)
