The end of a crappy week

It's been a crappy week, hence the non-posting. Nothing serious happening here at home, except for the fact that we're all uber busy at the moment. I've had two galleys to do as well as working at the library, Craig's been putting in a ton of hours because of work, and the kids are knee-deep in school stuff. We've barely seen each other, which in some ways is good because I've been in so much physical discomfort this week that I've been a bitch to be around. It's wreaking havoc with my mental health, though. There have been multiple instances where I've just wanted to curl up into a ball and cry. Stress over the next week certainly isn't going to help in that regard.

I managed to bake on Wednesday. I made vegan pumpkin walnut bread, and it turned out pretty great. The taste was spot-on. The only thing I'd do differently next time is leave the walnuts off the top. The batter is too dense for them to sink in very well, so they come off very easily once it's baked. I'd rather have more nuts on the inside, frankly.

Playing catch-up with the meme:

The 28th: What stage play is your favorite?
Two answers here, because it says play could mean musical so I'm going to answer both. Play is probably Noises Off by Michael Frayn. It's an absolutely hysterical show. I last saw it in SF three or four years ago, and it holds up beautifully. As for musicals, I'm going predictable and saying Les Miserables. It gets me every single time. Honestly, I think the first act of Sunday in the Park with George is the most perfect piece of musical theater ever, but then comes that awful second act which drops it in my overall rankings. So Les Miz wins.

The 29th: For $100,000 (or equivalent in your currency) would you put on 40 pounds/18 kg and keep it on for 3 years? How much money, if any, would induce you to put on 100 pounds/45 kg for at least a year?
Nope. I've struggled with my weight my whole life, and I hate it. I wouldn't knowingly put on even more weight, especially this late in my life, for any amount of money in the world.

The 30th: If you were president/prime minister/supreme leader etc. of your country, what is the first thing you would do?
So many things. Getting the covid response under control would probably come first, since we're surging and people are dying. With that comes the understanding that everyone should have insurance, too. It's all related.
