What I'm Reading Wednesday
WHAT I FINISHED
I finally finished The Last Oracle. I decided I'm going to go back and start the series from the beginning. Once I could actually spend some time reading, it was a pleasant enough escape. I also finished Bitter Pill which I really enjoyed. I hate that I have to wait so long for the next book.
I just finished A Mother's Reckoning by Sue Klebold tonight. That one was rough. I had just moved to the UK when Columbine happened, so I wasn't here for all the news. I only got the biggest headlines over there, and frankly, I was too wrapped up my in wedding, then being pregnant to pay much attention to it. I learned a lot, but man, that was not an easy read.
DID NOT FINISH
The House of Shattered Wings by Aliette de Bodard. This was a fallen angel story in a fantastical version of the world, and while the prose was very pretty, there still wasn't any discernible plot by the third chapter, and I didn't like any of the characters.
WHAT I'M READING
1. I'm about halfway through Drift now. I'm finding myself putting it down because I get so angry about all the corrupt politics. Even though I'm learning a lot.
And that's all I'm reading right now because I just finished two books today and haven't picked up their replacements yet, and the next book I'm getting from the library isn't in yet.
