Sunday 7

Considering how sad I am and how this week has gone, I have no idea how I'm going to come up with seven things that made me happy or smile this week, but let's try it anyway...

1. James Marsters. I got to live chat with him on Wednesday morning, and though I was still running a fever, I forced myself to look good and be as chirpy as possible. I'd bought four minutes that ran long. I cut him off at almost eleven minutes because I knew we were so far over. But we were talking theatre, and that man does love his theatre. It was very hard to get him to stop. But he was kind and gracious and it was worth every penny. The only thing that wasn't about theatre was at the very top of the conversation. I'd logged in at 9:45 because it was set to start at ten, but I had a book to read while I waited for my turn to come up. Except...I ended up being first. I scrambled as soon as I saw my name, but he was already waiting for me, so I explained the delay. He asked what I was reading, so I told him - Creativity, Inc., the book about how Pixar functions as a company. I'm reading it primarily because it talks about fostering creative environments in groups, but he launched into his own Pixar story. Back when Buffy was on the air, he got called to Pixar for an audition. When they discovered he wasn't actually British, they said, "Thanks, but no thanks." He explained that he was an actor and could do whatever accent they wanted, but they still passed because, "We're Pixar. If we want a British actor, we'll hire a British actor."

2. Hamilton. It was wonderful to see the original cast. Nothing will ever beat a live performance, but this was pretty damn great.

3. My mom is staying with her older sister now, and when I called her on her birthday to wish her well, I got to chat briefly with other family members that I adore and don't get to see very often.

4. Ulta has new Harry Potter themed make-up that I'm dying to try. Even though I maybe wear make-up once a week now.

5. This video about a dancing couple in China:

6. Full nights of sleep. Ordinarily, I wake up 3-4 times every night to adjust the pillow for my hip, because it hurts so much if I move wrong. I don't know what it is about this guest bed, but I haven't been doing that. I fall asleep and don't wake up until morning. And my hip doesn't hurt while I sleep.

7. My kids and Craig have been amazing at keeping everything going while I can't.
