Maybe not the smartest thing

I did something today that hopefully won't come back to bite me in the butt. Alex and I went to the grocery store and an absolutely dear friend I haven't seen since early March came up behind me. We were so excited about seeing each other that we hugged the stuffing out of each other. We were both wearing masks, and we stood apart and didn't touch again while we stood there and talked for fifteen minutes, but I found out while we were chatting that she had just been in Arizona last weekend for a family celebration. That sent me into panic mode briefly. Well, maybe not so briefly. I got home and told Alicia, who then spent an hour giving me a hard time about it.

But I'm trying to let it go. That friend is probably the biggest germaphobe I know, even before covid came around. She is a neat freak who sanitizes everything. And I know she hasn't worked since we were quarantined, she lives alone because her son is grown, so her contact with other people really is very minimal. Odds are very, very, very slim that I would've gotten anything. Still, there's that silly little niggle.

On a separate note, I found late last night that I'm being called back to read for parts in all three of the radio plays, including the female lead in the first one which is right up my alley. I'll also be reading for the villain in the second and small parts in the third. Nothing guarantees I couldn't get cast elsewhere, but it's nice to be considered. So three different callbacks, one on Thursday night, then the others on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The director was supposed to post the sides we'll be reading today so we have time to prepare, but that hasn't happened yet. I imagine she'll do it after midnight. She's a bit of a night owl.
