eurydice - mrs harris: mangofandango

Do it now, not later

There are seven days in the week. Someday is not one of them.

I'm trying to make this my mantra for 2019. To some degree, I'm succeeding. I think. We had our blocking rehearsal today, and the artistic director cornered me afterward to ask if I was enjoying it. I said yes, of course. It's hard work, but it doesn't feel like work which is the best combination.

Those feelings are finally start to come back about my writing. I've been pretty laid back about it the past few years, but for whatever reason, I'm feeling the urges to get stories out again. Trying to find the balance with everything else has been the hardest part about getting into the groove. I just want to chuck everything that isn't about creating.

Watching the Oscars tonight contributed to that. I love seeing the unrecognized get their due rewards. I can't say I agree with all the winners, and I know there's a lot of politics that go into the awards that have nothing to do with ability, but at the end of the day, these are people who love what they do. They love to create, to inspire. And I respect the hell out of that.
