Rectober Post #16 - Merlin

Title:Raven Child
Artist: mushroomtale
Character Merlin
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: Inspired by the concept of The Raven King, a human child raised in magic by faeries to become the greatest sorcerer of all time, from Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell -- as well as a plethora of other dark fables.

Why I loved it: This is just stunning artwork. The colors are beautiful, and there's a haunting quality to the contrasts.

Blindspot

I finally got around to watching the first episode of Blindspot today. We've been recording it, mostly because Craig said at one point he wanted to give it a go, but since he doesn't even have time to watch the shows we already like--The Blacklist, Fargo, the list goes on--I decided to stop waiting.

I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have high expectations going in. I can't say that I've ever been a fan of Jaimie Alexander, but I was pretty impressed with the first ep. Plus, how can I not watch Marianne Jean-Baptiste? I've loved her since Secrets & Lies. She's mesmerizing to watch. Granted, the concept isn't exactly original, but I have a soft-spot for over the top action shows, and hey, How to Get Away with Murder is pretty silly stuff.

As far as escapist entertainment? I've seen worse. I've got five more eps on the DVR, so we'll see how it goes.
