Fic meme, Day Fourteen

Now that LJ is being steady again, back to the meme...

14 – Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?

Absolutely no problem with NC17. If anything, I occasionally have problems going down to G (though not always because of sex, it's often because of language or violence). While I've never been surprised at getting a lower rating, I have noted on more than one occasion that it takes me a while to get to the higher one. But that's because I really suck at PWP and jumping into unmotivated sex, not because of the rating itself.

What I do find interesting is that my ratings for Merlin are lower across the board than they were for Buffy. But I think that's probably because of how much more sex I've written now than when I was writing Buffy. Sometimes, it just gets boring to do, and I want to do something plotting/talky/sweet/anything else, lol.

So been getting back to the jewelry, in light of how busy I've been. I finished two pieces the past couple days, a triple-strand layered necklace with a pendant, and a simple asymmetrical necklace. The triple-stand taught me how to use bead cones, and the asymmetrical was my first shot at using chain.

And I really have to figure out how to use our camera instead of relying on my crappy camera on my phone or ipad. :P The colors don't come through great. The triple-strand is mint green, gunmetal gray, with gold/dusky accents to pick up the mother-of-pearl quality to the pendant, while the asymmetrical is variegated blue and brown faceted beads that are much prettier in person than on the pictures.
