cooking: sunlitdays

(no subject)

Today is Thursday, which means weigh-in day. The scale is still tipping downward, though this week only by 1.1 pounds. That puts my grand total loss so far at 14.2 since 9/11.

I'm actually very pleased with how it's going. Most of the time, I don't feel deprived. I eat when I'm hungry, food tastes great, and I finally was able to get rid of my fat-fat pants. Not my fat pants. See, I had to move into my fat pants a couple years ago, then last winter, when those were too tight, I had to go up another size. So the new size became my fat-fat pants. But now, they won't stay up without a belt, so I'm officially moving them out of the rotation. Plus, I don't have to pour myself into my fat pants. I can pull them on with ease and I'm not spilling over the top. So it's all good.

I'm not even that worried about the holidays. The only aspect that is bugging me is my baking, but I'm going to try and do a little bit and just give it all away. For the family, I'm finding lower fat and lower sugar substitutes. The gingerbread I made a few weeks ago is a more than tasty substitute, and tonight, I made a chocolate cherry brownie that turned out fabulous. In the end, it's all going to be worth it. This life is the only one I have. I want it to be long and healthy. Since I can control my weight, then that's the least I can do to work toward sticking around as long as possible.

Life is good. :)
