So something happened with Alicia today, and I don't have Craig here to talk to. We knew it was going to happen eventually, but the optimists in us hoped we wouldn't have to deal with it this year.

Alicia asked if Santa was real. And not in a way that allowed me to sidestep or go metaphorical on her. Apparently, a girl she hangs out with told her last year that Santa was just parents writing his name on the gifts they bought for their kids. Alicia apparently has been dwelling on this dilemma ever since then because she refused to believe it, but now finally had the nerve to ask her.

Alex immediately argued with her and said of course Santa was real. Mommy and Daddy said he was.

I have no idea how my mom dealt with this. I can't remember believing in Santa Claus. So if you've dealt with this, how did you do it? Advice?
