BtVS/AtS awards pimping

In case it wasn't obvious already, I'm a strong supporter for fanfic awards. It's not that they're necessarily prestigious or anything, and yes, they can be awfully inbred, but generally speaking, I think they're an excellent way to give something back to authors who work so hard to provide stories we love. Winning is great, getting an e-mail saying you were nominated can be even more exciting. That means, one of your readers cares enough about your work to take a couple minutes to do so, and very often, that means tons more than feedback. And if you consider yourself normally a lurker, it's an excellent way to honor your favorite writers without having to step forward (if you're too shy to say anything directly to them).

So, what I've decided to do is make a list of the award sites that I'm aware of. I don't know a lot about some of the sites, but I've nominated at most of them. The vast majority of these are Spuffy, mainly because that's what I primarily read.

If anyone knows of other BtVS/AtS awards sites---other ships, genfic, whatever---let me know and I'll update this post with them. I'm going to keep this in my memories as a reference for anyone who might be interested.

Can't believe it's done, but it is. I've actually started the search for a literary agent, complete with queries and sample chapters. God all mighty, what on earth have I done?

Wish me luck?

And please tell me I didn't make the biggest mistake of my life...

So, Craig's fixed it so that he won't need to go to the UK for the training. Yay! Couldn't handle the uprooting right now.

We've asked his parents over for Christmas, and looking at flight prices and the fact that Alex's birthday is in December, it looks like they're going to stay with us for a month. I'm looking forward to them being here; Christmas has always been about family for me, and this is one of the few ways we can get that. It'll be good for the kids, too. They'll get to have that extra time with Nana and Grandad this way.

I so love Christmas. I love the cooking, the decorating, the gift-giving. It's my favorite holiday of the year by far. Forgive me if I end up being extra chirpy (when I'm not stressing about fic) for the next couple months. :D
