It's nearly 3am and 3 out of 4 people in the Harris household is wide awake. I tossed and turned for nearly 3 hours, then Alex woke up at 2, and Alicia woke up at 2:30. Now, all 3 of us are wide awake and unable to fall back asleep, hence some creative bed shuffling in an attempt to do something about it.
Actually, that means I'm downstairs on the couch, while the kids are sleeping together in the spare bedroom (because Alicia's issue was that she wanted to sleep with someone but not in Mommy and Daddy's room). And they're not really sleeping, because I just heard Alex get up and start calling me. Damn.
As much as I love Craig, when he reminds me that he's just a man by doing something entirely male, it still manages to shock me.
Since I'm feeling better and was grateful for the respite I got from everything today, I figured I'd make it up to him. So, I spent an hour getting ready---long soak in the tub, pretty smelling things on, planning a seduction---and came downstairs to find him reading on the couch with the television on some Michelangelo documentary. Without saying a word, I turn off the tv and go over to him, only to have him look up from his book, give me a withering, angry look, and announce, "I've just spent the last two hours watching that and now you've gone and turned it off just when it was getting to the part I wanted to see."
Needless to say, big bucket o' cold water on me.
And of course, pissed me off in a huge way, because, hello!, when I walked in and for the five minutes I was in the room before touching the television, his eyes were glued to the computer book he was reading (UML for Java Programmers, yuck). Watching it, my ass.
So now, I'm cranky and Craig's not speaking to me (I turned around and put the tv back on, and lo and behold, he's *still* reading the stupid book). Think I'm going to call it an early night and go off and try to dream about fantasy men who appreciate a little effort in seduction. Sigh.
