Crap crap crap

One of these days, I'm going to remember to start writing shit down.

So, OK, it started out as a really good day. One of my favorite stores had their summer sale, so we drove down to Lakeside, dropped Alicia off at the creche, and I spent the next two hours in the madness of Next, forty-five minutes of that in the queue just to pay. Worth it in the long run, though. Bought £225 worth of clothes for me and the kids for just over £100. Not too shabby.

So, I get my venti mocha frappuccino---which always gives me a happy---we get in the car for the ride home, and both kids fall asleep. Another happy for me. :) Get to the house, and settle down to finish the latest Voices chapter so that I can get it posted tonight. And that's when everything starts falling apart.

First of all, we had another bunny breakout, both of them this time, only we don't realize it until the neighbor comes over to tell us he saw Buffy and Spike running through his garden. Great. It takes us forever to catch them again, and I lose an hour of writing time. I'm beginning to wish we'd never gotten the stupid things. Pardon me for being annoyed.

Then, Alicia and Alex decide they want mommy time. Because I don't give them enough during the week, obviously. So, I get pulled away from my laptop again until they go to bed. I then spend the next two hours finishing and polishing the chapter, and decide it's ready to post, when I realize...I completely left out the plot point I need in this particular chapter. I got so wrapped up in the Buffy/Spike scene, I forgot about my Iris coda.

Stupid plot.

So, it's now 10:00, and my brain pretty much stops being functional for writing purposes after 10 (I find myself re-writing most of the crap that comes out of my head then so I've stopped even trying), which means it's not getting done tonight. And I'm really, really sorry. See, I do have an outline, but it's in my head. I almost never actually write the thing out, and usually it doesn't fail me. Please note the use of the word "usually."

I'm sure there's a lesson in here somewhere. I'm not so sure I want to see it.

So, tomorrow. Definitely. I suppose I could start posting the mob AU instead, but I wanted to get this up first. Plus...formatting at this hour? Probably not the smartest thing.

The concert went well last night, but Alicia is home sick today. She's running a slight fever and completely out of it, poor thing. :( At least Alex…
