Discombobulation

I'm all out of sorts. It's just been one of those days. Again.

We had a minor disaster when Alicia and Alex started playing catch with this squidgy toy thingy he got at the mall the other day---when they know they're not supposed to do this sort of thing in the house---and Alicia overthrew and hit the shelf over Alex's head instead. Broke 3 of the 4 glass figures that were on it, and spilled my Diet Mountain Dew---that I'd specifically put up on a high shelf so that little hands wouldn't reach it---which fell over and soaked half the books on the shelf below. Sigh.

Oh, and I caught Alex trying to climb up and sit on the half-wall that separates our dining room from the lower sitting room, because he wanted a balcony seat to watch Finding Nemo. Oi.

And Alicia made it obvious all day that dinner was just not going to do, that she *had* to have pizza. By the time 5:00 came around, I was pretty much in agreement that mommy didn't want to cook, so when Craig got home, we walked down to Safeway and raided the deli. Alicia got her pizza and I didn't have to cook. Bonus.

Solved tomorrow's dinner problem by settling on a Mexican buffet bar. Now I just have to work on the barbecue dinner for Monday.

I can't get motivated to work on my blurb assignment (I am the worst procrastinator in history, I think). I want to write fic, damn it. I've got Spike and Willow stuff in the next Legions chapter, and I've got Spike and Holly stuff to do in Frost, and my Spuffy ficathon assignment to work on, and my Spuffy human futuristic AU that I keep going back to, and my post-NFA fic that is still begging to be written. Oh, and I promised danaid_luv that ficlet in response to helping me. So, see, I should be working on fic, not my assignment, right? You guys don't care about my deadline; you just want to see fic, right? Right? Please tell me right.

Oh, and the possibility of my going to London for Halloween hit a snag this afternoon. The couple who are coming to dinner tomorrow night are getting married that month, and we're invited, but I don't know the date. I'm going to find out tomorrow night. Fingers crossed it doesn't conflict.
