What a day.
I tackled the living room today as my unpacking project. That's where all the remaining boxes are, and is also the room we stashed all the furniture we weren't sure what to do with. I had a brainstorm last night about where everything should go, so I spent the day moving oak bookshelves up two flights of stairs, rearranging the shelves that got left in the room, and moving around all the books boxes before getting around to unpacking them. I still have 6 boxes of books left and 3 boxes of videos, but I can't do anything about those until we go shopping this weekend. I need a second entertainment center because Craig has decided that all the English entertainment stuff is going to live in the house and not in the garage. My upper body is a wee bit sore as a result. OK, a lot sore.
Alicia has started the random crying again. It's the same random crying jags she started having a few months ago, where she'd go on about not wanting to move and how many people she was going to miss. Today's were all about Daddy. We've had half a dozen jags today where she wants Daddy to come home because she doesn't want to forget what he looks like. She's OK when she stays busy, but they pop out of the blue---when she's eating, when she was changing for bed, etc. I wish there was some way Craig hadn't had to leave on the same day as his parents, but it couldn't be helped. I'm going to be so glad when he gets home. I'm emotionally drained.
At least Craig called me tonight. I've been on the phone with him for the past hour and a half, just talking about anything and everything. He was wonderful and waited until he knew the kids would be asleep, but poor guy, he's not getting any sleep in NYC and can't wait to come home tomorrow, too. His hotel lost power for a good part of today, hence why he called me instead of working. I got to listen to him bitch about work, and he got to listen to me bitch about heavy furniture. Don't we make a good team?
And somewhere in the midst of all this, and the other cleaning and laundry I got done today, I managed to get 5000 words written, which finished up the next Legions chapter. Don't know how it happened except that most of it is Spike and Willow stuff so for some reason it wrote very quickly. I don't have the brainpower to look it over tonight, but it'll get posted in the morning once the kids have gone to nursery.
