I can have a decent day if I avoid the news

Working today turned out to be a wonderful distraction. I've been tasked to completely reorganize all the art supplies we've got for kid and teen projects, and it was great to just bury myself in that after my other work was done. Then, I got some news that made me smile. It hit the news today that the governor of Rhode Island, Gina Raimondo, was selected as Biden's Commerce Secretary. Well, her husband, Andy Moffit, was my class president for four years in high school. He was a wonderful guy then - smart, empathetic, active in all the right things - and it seems that he hasn't changed. I've followed him and his wife for the past few years, and it really seems that they're doing good work in RI. Now, he'll be off to DC if she gets confirmed. I'm really not surprised. He's good people. And they're the cutest couple. He's only 5'3"/5'4"ish, and she's 5'2". They're pocket-sized and adorable.

I'm also getting away from the news in the evening with our rewatch of S7 Buffy. It's been well over a decade since I've watched it, and Craig didn't remember any of it at all. He probably only watched it the once when it first aired. We've done 8 episodes the past two nights, and I'm hoping we might actually finish it by the end of the weekend. I'm working on a story for the whichwillow ficathon that is set in the last few episodes of S7, and I'm stalled at 3k until I get a refresh on other events. It's been fun, though. I don't remember so many of the details, and I'm laughing and tearing up like it's brand new. Not the rocket launcher scene, however. When Him started, I was giggling like a crazy woman because I knew what was coming. And it didn't disappoint. Still funny after all these years.
